Greene County High School boys’ basketball head coach Chris Nelson has announced final awards for the 2022-23 season. The Rams were 10-13 overall and finished in third among eight Heart of Iowa Activities Conference teams at 7-7 in those games.
Senior Richard Daugherty was named MVP of the team, Offensive Player of the Year, a team Captain, first team All-Conference, and on the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Class 2A All-Substate team.
Senior Jesse Miller was named the Rams’ Defensive Player of the Year, as well as a team Captain, and IBCA Academic All-District.
Junior Brynley Ruzicka was named Most Improved Player.
Those three were letter winners, along with Patrick Daugherty, Parker Fitzpatrick, Lucas Jablonski, Wyatt Villebro, Gabe Ebersole, Trey Schilling, Nathan Behne, Noah Hinote, Isaac Carman, and managers, Hayleigh Rivera, Hallie Monthei, and Kaylee Stalder.
Academic All-Conference honors went to Miller, Patrick Daugherty, Villebro, Behne, Ruzicka, Ebersole, Schilling, Monthei, and Stalder.
