For the first time since 2018, an annual event will come back through parts of Greene County.
Officials with the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) have announced the Jefferson and Rippey will be pass through towns as part of its overall route in July. The week-long event is slated for July 22th-29th and the two Greene County towns are on day three between overnight stops from Carroll to Ames. This will also be the longest stretch day for the week with 83 miles on the docket. The other pass through towns for that day include Glidden, Jefferson, Rippey and Luther.
The last time RAGBRAI came through Jefferson, the city was an overnight stop in 2018.
