A Dallas County Deputy was struck by a vehicle and suffered injuries Saturday. 

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, they responded at 4:20pm when Dallas County Deputy Brandon Bjoin was assisting a motorist who was stuck on the median after an accident at the 102.5 mile marker on Interstate-80. Deputy Bjoin was talking with the person who was stuck when a black suburban entered into the median and sideswiped him. 

Deputy Bjoin was transported by Dallas County EMS to Methodist Hospital in downtown Des Moines. Deputy Bjoin was released from Methodist with bruising to his right arm. Dallas County EMS, the Stuart Police Department, the Earlham Police Department, Earlham Fire Department, and the Iowa State Patrol all assisted on the scene.
