The City of Perry recently moved to push back the timeline on a project that aims to clean up Frog Creek.

City Administrator Sven Peterson says that they are looking to remove overgrowth and shave the banks from Orschelns all the way to Pattee Park which will help with water quality, flow and open the creek up to the public. Peterson explains that the Perry City Council rejected the bids they had for the Frog Creek Restoration project because they came in higher than the engineers estimated cost.

“It seems like things start bidding earlier and earlier. So we probably had a few contractors that had a little bit more full of a schedule than we would have expected at this time of the year. So we’ll be going back looking at that project, understanding what may have caused those bids otherwise to be a little bit higher. I think there were a couple of aspects of that project that maybe we can look at, so we’ll be looking at that.”

He says that they will look to rebid the project in late summer or into the fall.
