The Stuart Chamber of Commerce held its annual Chamber Dinner Wednesday night.
Chamber and community members gathered at 5:30pm for a bit of social time, before the dinner at six. Once everyone had eaten, there were some festivities, speeches made, and awards given.
Bill Sloss received the Star of the Show Award for his and his brother’s part in helping keep the economic life in Stuart alive and community service over their 45 years of business ownership, while Bob Cook and Chamber President Katie Adams received some surprise awards. Cook received the Heart of Community Award for his part in helping the Stuart community, and taking part in many of the things that happen in the town, and Adams received the Shine Bright Like a Diamond Award for helping other businesses and taking on new challenges as she stepped first into her role as business owner, and then into the role of Chamber President.
The other two awards were given to businesses that have been doing extremely well, growing, bringing new customer bases to the city. The Climbing to the Top or Rookie of the Year Award was given to The Stuart Scoop, and the Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop Award was Given to Rensy’s Custom Designs.
