Greene County residents are encouraged to attend this month’s event to hear from a couple of the state-elected lawmakers.

The “Meet Your Legislators” will be held on Saturday at 10am at the Welcome Center in Jefferson. District 24 Senator Jesse Green (R-Boone) and House District 47 Representative Carter Nordman (R-Panora) will be on hand to give updates from each of their respective chambers at the Statehouse, along with addressing questions from the audience.

Jefferson resident Rick Morain will serve as the moderator and he will ask questions that are submitted by the other attendees on paper prior to the start of the forum. This will be the first such forum following the first funnel week of the legislature, which allows for any bills that pass a full committee to be kept “alive” for the session, while the bills that didn’t make it through a committee, are essentially “dead” for the rest of the session.

Saturday’s event is sponsored by the Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County and it is free and open to the public. There will be one final “Meet Your Legislators” slated for April 8th.
