The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center FFA Chapter recently added some more members to a prestigious group.

The Iowa FFA Degree is the highest degree awarded by the Iowa FFA Association, and those that receive it are selected for nomination by the State Committee according to provision in the Iowa FFA Constitution. Being awarded the Degree is so uncommon, that only 5% of applicants receive it.

There are three requirements that applicants must meet to qualify, which are that they must receive the Chapter FFA Degree and be an active member of the chapter for 24 or more months and have completed 360 hours of instruction in the agriculture classroom in high school, they must have earned and invested $1,000 or more than 300 hours in excess of scheduled class time or a combination of the two, and have served at least 25 hours of community service.

The AC/GC FFA Chapter currently has 128 members that have been awarded the Iowa FFA Degree, and this year added seven more members to that number. The seven recipients will be recognized at the Iowa State FFA Leadership Conference on April 18th.
