The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Thursday.
The Board had a short agenda, and only approved two items. Supervisor Chair Brian Johnson made a motion to go ahead and hire a new jailer for the law enforcement center, and it was approved in a 3-2 vote, with Supervisors Maggie Armstrong and Mike Dickson voting no. The Board also set a public hearing for the proposed maximum tax levy rates. The hearing will take place on March 23rd at 10am. The max general basic levy is $4.50 per $1,000 of taxable valuation, the max general supplemental levy rate is $1.90 per $1,000 taxable valuation, and the max rural services levy is $3.95 per $1,000.
