A deadline is fast approaching for the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig says the program is designed to support projects that enhance competitiveness of specialty crops. He adds that it helps to build and showcase the diversity of Iowa agriculture.
Priority areas for the 2023 grants include projects that may significantly expand, enhance or improve production and markets, research strategies to increase yields, including a focus on pests and disease, and provide technical assistance or information to growers on creating and sustaining profitable businesses.
