A Carroll woman was arrested for her role in an alleged incident at Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson.
According to court documents, 47-year-old Nathan Martin of Carroll won a jackpot of $2,007 on a slot machine on February 2nd. Martin was then seen calling someone on his cell phone and a few minutes later, 50-year-old Angela Robbins was sitting in front of the winning machine to claim the jackpot. However, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) agent that was assigned to the casino reviewed the surveillance video footage and saw that Martin won the jackpot.
Court documents show that when casino staff ran Martin’s identification through the Iowa Department of Administrative Services Offset Program, he owed the state of Iowa $89,000. The jackpot was withheld from Martin and applied to his debts.
Robbins was charged with a Class D Felony for gambling-avoid setoff and she was arrested this past weekend and booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
