An Adair man was arrested last week for an alleged drug-related incident.

According to court documents, an Adair Police Officer was notified of a no contact order violation from a case in Atlantic on 27-year-old Matthew Paulsen. When the officer went to Paulsen’s residence to arrest him to be transported to Atlantic, the officer followed Paulsen inside the home and noticed drug-related items in plain view. 

Court documents show the officer arrested Paulsen and went back inside the home to recover the drug items. Paulsen was then charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor for his second offense for possession of marijuana and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Paulsen was booked into the Adair County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
