Tonight is the annual Greene County Cattlemen’s Association banquet and trophy auction.
The event is at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson beginning with a social time at 6pm, followed by a ribeye steak meal at 6:30pm. The auction will then follow the meal. Proceeds from the auction go toward various 4-H and youth projects such as scholarships for graduating high school seniors, providing funds for the Greene County FFA jackets for new members, as well as participating in lots of events grilling beef and being involved in beef promotions at the county, state and national levels.
President Justin Robbins tells Raccoon Valley Radio what he enjoys the most from their annual fundraiser.
“I like the fact that it shows that the community really believes in what we’re doing, it shows that they have our back, and they know that we’re going to take that money and use it wisely as they support us.”
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the door.
