adm-7

Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers basketball was looking to pull off the upset in their class 3A Substate 1 semifinal round against Webster City, and the Tigers hung tough the entire game, but free throw shooting and clutch plays from Webster City down the stretch were able to allow the home team to get a 57-52 victory. The Tigers will end their season with a 11-12 record while Webster City will continue their outstanding year with a 19-3 record.

ADM and Webster City went back and forth in a torrid paced first quarter with the Lynx leading by 1 17-16 after eight minutes, and had the halftime lead of 29-22. The Lynx were able to maintain control as they lead by eight points after three quarters of play. The Tigers were cold until the fourth, trailing 45-35, ADM was able to light it up from deep, hitting four big threes in the coming minutes, with Rhylan Stine-Smith and Adam Bryte both hitting major threes for the Tigers. Brevin Doll was able to grab a layup with under two minutes to go, with ADM leading 52-50, but Webster City found a three, then multiple stops, and hit four big free throws down the stretch as they were able to thwart the Tigers upset chances.

Free throw shooting was difficult for ADM throughout the game, as the team went 5-19 from the line in the game, their worst mark of the season. Bryte, Doll, and Stine-Smith were all able to finish in double figure scoring for the Tigers.

The Tigers will be losing four seniors from their lineup in Benetti, Ryan Conrad, Bennett Holmberg, and Carson Winter. The Tigers will be bringing back a quality lineup next year, as they hope to field another quality team next winter.
