The Perry City Council met on Tuesday.

The Council held public hearings starting with the city’s proposed maximum property tax dollars for fiscal year 2024 to not exceed $3.1 million and approved the item which saw an increase of 9.5-percent from the fiscal year 2023 maximum property tax dollars.

Additionally, they held another public hearing on the contract regarding documents and estimated cost for 1st Street Cured-in-Place-Pipe Lining (CIPP) and approved repairing a main line under first street to the Dollar General on Willis Avenue.

The Board then heard that the Frog Creek Restoration project cost came in over the city’s budget so they approved having the engineer Bolten and Mink figure out why the project is over their estimated cost. Finally, the Council approved to adopt the policy regarding the police department’s cut and curb procedure.
