Its National FFA Week and the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Chapter continues to celebrate throughout the week.
The ADM Chapter kicked off their week with a pie eating contest which was an annual competition and the winner won a prize, and throughout the week they had other activities like guessing the amount of kernels in a jar, staff appreciation breakfast, a pig hide and seek challenge and dress up days for each day of the week. Tomorrow at 8am in the high school parking lot they will have a truck show supported by the alumni and supporters which will give awards to the loudest, dirtiest and best in show. FFA Chapter Advisor Mackenzie Gettler tells Raccoon Valley Radio what National FFA Week is all about.
“It’s a great recruitment tool for us and great way to within the school get the FFA and the activities and agriculture industry out to our other high school students. So not only is it a great way to recruit, but it’s also great advocacy activities for us too, because we use it as a way to also educate the other ADM students about the agricultural industry.”
The ADM FFA Chapter was established in 2015 and currently in their 8th year they have 107 students involved. National FFA Week is from February 18th through the 25th.
