Tomorrow will be the next airing of the Greene Spaces program with the Greene County School District on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
Greene County High School English Teacher Kirsten Carman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Greene Spaces is an elective English class that focuses on communication, writing and mass media. One of the students is Ava Perrett and she tells Raccoon Valley Radio what she covered for the radio program.
“I did the students of the month for CTE (Career and Technical Education) and our regular students of the month. And I got that information from a lot of really helpful teachers who talked to me through emails and just gave me any information that I needed.”
Another student is Lily Hinote who will report on the upcoming Junior/Senior Prom as well as various music department updates. She talks about how she was able to gather the information needed for her stories.
“Miss Carman, my teacher for this class, actually is the one doing all of the prom things, so I didn’t really have to go very far for that type of information. And then for the music department, I’m in some of the music department things, so Mr. (David) Heupel has been my teacher (for choir) and I went and talked to Mr. (Wes) Anderson (the band director) in person, and took a couple of notes, and came up with whatever I came up with. I thought it was kind of fun trying to come up with your own words of how you would explain some of the topics that you have to explain.”
The students that are also part of the radio program include Jeremiah Mozena, Richard Daughtery, Rasmus Villebro who joins Perrett and Hinote. The Greene Spaces program will air on KGRA 98.9FM tomorrow at 6:20am and 4:20pm. You can also listen to the program through the free KGRA mobile app with any smart device.
