The Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is getting ready for some fun events in March, especially for a big one.
Adair County Extension Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they are offering programs during spring break with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
“One of our big spotlights that we are working on is, Extension is working with Nodaway Valley elementary school, and we are providing some STEM and art kits for Nodaway Valley K (kindergarten) through 5th grade to take home. It will provide some educational activities, some art projects, coloring sheets, worksheets, coloring items, that type of thing, for them to work on over spring break. Give them some educational activities to do.”
Savage says that the kits will allow the children to build their own puzzles, decorate bookmarks, build paper and foam airplanes, and grow some flowers. She adds that this ties into an event they’ll be having in April, where Nodaway Valley kindergarten through 5th grade students will be able to build and launch their own rockets.
