Main Street Guthrie Center will be hosting a fun event next week.

On Monday Main Street will have a Chili Dinner To-Go Fundraiser. The suggested donation for the meal is five dollars, but if individuals would like to donate more they can. The dinner will include chili, cornbread, crackers and a dessert, and will be served from 4:45-6:30pm, or until the chili is gone.

Main Street Director Lindsay Gilland says that the group loves doing fun community events like this, because it brings people to the business district and shows them what all is happening. Proceeds from the dinner will go into a fund that Main Street Guthrie Center uses to pay grants to business owners in the downtown area in the event that they need some help. She adds that they chose to do the fundraiser on Monday, because none of the restaurants in the business district are open, so they wouldn’t be competing with those they were trying to help.
