Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community will feature a new recognition at their annual Community Appreciation Night.
Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the “Forces Under 40” is for those individuals who are seen as leaders or supporters of Jefferson and Greene County.
“Folks that have been a ‘force’ in the community. Whatever volunteer thing they are a part of some positive impact they’ve made. But we want to be able to recognize these younger generations to kind of help get them more engaged. We want to definitely acknowledge that there’s a lot of that 40 and under crowd that plays a big part of making this community successful.”
Wetrich points out nominations will be accepted via email or stop by the Welcome Center with a short description of that individual and what they’ve done to be recognized. He adds that there will be 4-5 people that will be recognized at their Community Appreciation Night on March 28th. Deadline for nominations is by the end of February.
