A single vehicle crash in Audubon County leaves a man from Adel dead on Sunday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, deputies responded to an accident at 6pm on Lark Avenue which is North of 335th Street in Audubon. A 2006 Hyundai Tiburon was headed northbound on Lark Avenue of 335th when the driver 52 year-old Stephen Smith lost control of his vehicle and entered the west ditch where the vehicle rolled over and came to a rest on its roof. Smith was later pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Audubon Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and Exira Fire and Rescue all responded to the scene.
