A two vehicle crash last Friday in Guthrie County resulted in minor injuries.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office crash report, at about 5:36pm 41-year-old Jeffrey Painter of Leland, Illinois was backing a 2003 Mack semi tractor-trailer out of a private driveway onto White Pole Road, where part of the trailer extended past the westbound lane into the eastbound lane. Forty-eight year-old Timothy Wells of Menlo was heading west on White Pole Road when he became blinded by the sun’s glare and his 2008 Lexus RX-400 struck the rear-wheels of the truck.

Wells’ vehicle sustained $10,000 of damages, while minimal damages of about $3,500 were reported to the semi and trailer. Wells was treated for possible minor injuries at the scene and was not transported to a hospital. Painter received a citation for unsafe backing on a highway.
