Its “where the rubber meets the road,” for Dallas Center-Grimes boys basketball as they start their postseason journey for the first round of the Class 4A Region 8 Bracket tonight in Grimes.

(11-9) Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs will face off against (5-16) Des Moines North Polar Bears. The Mustangs are headed into the playoffs winning their last 3 out of 4 games.  Their last victory was over the Ballard Bombers from the Raccoon River Conference by a score of 72 to 55. DCG shot the ball well as team while also taking care of the ball and playing excellent defense and its worth mentioning that Jonathan Howard played well with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Tate Perrin had a career high 18 points.

Des Moines North finished last in the Iowa Alliance South Conference with a (2-8) conference record but are coming off a win over Fort Dodge by a score of 72 to 59. The Polar Bears have a stand out freshman by the name of Jayden McGregory who averages 14 points per game and seven rebounds per game.

The winner of this matchup will face off against (15-6) Council Bluffs Lincoln in Council Bluffs. Raccoon Valley Radio will broadcast the game live from Meadows Gymnasium at 6:45pm with tip at 7pm on KDLS-2.
