This Saturday is the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group All-State Festival and Greene County High School has one group that will participate.
Senior Brayden Roberts says their short film “Mobius” was something he and juniors Nathan Ausberger and Jack Hansen put together within one week before the district competition, after starting a different project three months prior.
“We were like, ‘Okay, we need to think of a script and start shooting this.’ So I want to say the Friday before like the week of (districts) I wrote the script, kind of roughly, and then we started shooting on that Monday. And then that Monday we started revising the script, kind of shooting the parts that we knew we wanted to, and then just kind of going from there.”
Hansen describes his initial reaction once they found out that their short film was nominated for All-State.
“I was extremely excited because even though we didn’t do the amount of time, but we did put a lot of work in that week. It was really relieving to see that we got in and just super stress free after that, knowing that we made it to the final spot.”
