The four day Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament starts today at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines and Greene County has four qualifiers. Seniors Kale Petersen and McKinley Robbins are the number one seeds at 132 and 138 lbs., respectively, while sophomore Brent Dennhardt at 145 lbs. and junior Gavin Scheuermann at 160 are seeds number 11 and 12 in that order. The top eight seeds have a bye in the first round that starts at 1:30 p.m., so Petersen and Robbins won’t wrestle until later this afternoon. Dennhardt and Scheuermann will in the first round that starts at 1:30 p.m.

In all, the three Raccoon Valley Radio stations will be bringing listeners play-by-play of more than 60 area wrestlers in all three classes of competition today, tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday. Coverage starts at 8:30 a.m. today with Class 1A and 3A takes to the mats tonight at 6.
