The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session on Monday.

The Council approved a liquor license renewal for Dollar General, and heard an update from Street & Wastewater Superintendent Darin Sloss. Sloss told the Council that the department has been busy with removing ash trees, truck maintenance and some work on sewer and water systems. He also mentioned that he had a proposal for concrete repair/replacement at the northwest corner of North 1st Street and State Street for $26,750.00 from PCS in Atlantic.

The Council also heard updates from Main Street Guthrie Center Director Lindsay Gilland, and new Guthrie Center Fire Department Chief Cory Campbell, before hearing annual budget requests from Mary J Barnett Memorial Library Director Jerri Hawkins, and Library Board members Steve Bascom and Becky Carico.
