An event is coming back later this month in Jefferson that features two more local individuals on a thought-provoking topic.
The Lyceum Movement is a place that allows adults to think, learn and talk with their neighbors, as deep questions are explored of what it means to be human. February’s topic asks the question: “Can We Have Heroes?” Organizers will have participants discussing whether or not there should be heroes if today’s culture knows about the faults of human beings.
Two guest speakers are invited to help lead that discussion with local journalist Rick Morain who also has a doctorate degree in American Studies from Yale. Greene County High School Social Studies Teacher and Jefferson City Council member Darren Jackson is the other presenter.
The event will be held on Wednesday, February 15th from 7-9pm at PickAway Americana and Meeting House in Jefferson. Tickets are $10 per person. Click here to purchase a ticket.
