The Perry Rotary Club officially gave their Civil Servant of the Year award for 2022 to John and Linda Andorff Monday night.
During the City Council meeting, John and Linda Andorf received a plaque with their names on it recognizing their volunteer work. John is the Mayor of Perry along with a member of the Lions Club that facilitates the Kidsight Program and also serves on the Raccoon Valley Pet Rescue Board. John told Raccoon Valley Radio what this means to him and his family.
“My wife and I are very honored that we were recognized for our volunteer services. There’s many there’s many deserving people in Perry for all the volunteer service they do. And as I indicated during the council meeting, it’s not so much who you are, but what you do and and what you do for the citizens of your community and the community at large. Again, we’re very appreciative of the recognition and we hope to continue to volunteer.”
Linda is also the President of the Perry Community School District Board of Education, and is also a Board member of the Perry School Foundation and the Treasurer of the Retired Teachers Organization. This award is given to individuals who work or volunteer in areas of law enforcement, fire department, ambulance and emergency services, health care, human services, among others.
