The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

During reports, Supervisor Chair John Muir said he participated in an update with Greene County Development Corporation for an introduction to a possible new individual. He said he met with Sara Huddleston who does multicultural work in Storm Lake about the possibility of her doing multicultural work in Greene County. No other information was given by Muir.

The Board then approved using bond receipts from the $3.3 million emergency communication tower project to pay S&P Global $13,750 for the bond rating and Motorola Solutions 25-percent of its contract for $428,000 toward the project. They also approved using the state rates for meal reimbursement for county employees when attending functions such as conferences, with the most recent rates of $8 for breakfast, $10 for lunch and $19 for dinner.

Following a public hearing, the Board approved an amendment to the current fiscal year budget, with an overall net increase of $151,807, as presented.

Finally, Supervisor Dan Benitz asked about whether or not the county should provide an area for dog owners to deposit their dog’s waste. Some of the Board felt it was their responsibility to do that, but that there were trash cans that people can already use. No action was taken by the Board following the brief discussion.
