The Stuart Library Foundation has a great scholarship for young adults living in the West Central Valley School District.
Foundation Member Russ Wagner tells Raccoon Valley Radio about the International Travel Scholarship.
“It’s an International Travel Scholarship created by two brothers, who don’t live in the district anymore, but feel very strongly about traveling the world. They’ve been to 72 countries. They feel that by doing so, it helps them understand different cultures, accept different cultures, expand their horizons, their mind, their education, etc. They fund this annually for the next 10 years. We’ve done it for about two years now, we obviously skipped for Covid. And it’s (for) anybody between the ages of 18 to 25 that live in the West Central Valley School District, which includes all four communities, Redfield, Dexter, Stuart and Menlo.”
Wagner adds that past winners of the scholarship have gone to Peru to visit Machu Picchu, and the most recent winners are heading to Greece and other parts of Europe.
