Greene County and Paton-Churdan did well at this past Saturday’s Iowa High School Speech Association State Large Group contest.

Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray tells Raccoon Valley Radio short film, readers theater and ensemble acting earned straight Division I-ratings from each of their respective judges. She adds radio broadcasting received an overall Division I-rating and choral reading got a Division II. Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Lauren Boysen says readers theater received a Division II-rating as well. The contest was held at Waukee High School.

All-State selections will be announced Monday late afternoon. Those events that will participate in All-State must be nominated by the room judges. The All-State Festival will take place February 18th at Iowa State University.
