6:07am: Sparky’s One Stop reported finding a baggy of suspected narcotics on the business floor at 606 Hwy. 30 East. The officer took possession of the drug and is reviewing surveillance video to determine who dropped it.

8:10am: An officer investigated an accident at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets. A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, owned by Dennhardt Ultimate Power washing and operated by Brent Dennhardt of Rippey, was traveling north on Elm Street. A 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, owned and operated by Deborah Sanders of Rockwell City, was southbound on Elm Street. Both vehicles left the posted stop sign together. Unit two was attempting to navigate a left turn onto Lincoln Way Street and the two units collided in the intersection. Both drivers believed they had reached the stop sign first and had the right of way. The officer could not find supporting evidence to support either side. No citation was issued. The Dennhardt vehicle had a reported $1000.00 in damages, while the Sanders vehicle had a reported damage amount of $2000.00.

12:11pm: An officer investigated an accident Elm and Adams Streets. A 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, owned and operated by Sarah Schwery of Jefferson, was northbound on Elm. A 2015 Chrysler Town & Country Van, owned by New Cooperative and driven by Travis Roach of Otho, was southbound on Elm. At the intersection of Adams Street, unit one attempted to make a left turn, in front of unit two. The vehicles collided. The Schwery vehicle had a reported $200.00 in damages, while unit one suffered a reported $5000.00 in damages. Schwery was cited for, “Turning at Intersection Violation.”

3:49pm: Denny Lautner requested a Welfare Check on a subject in the 500 Block of North Elm Street. The officer found the subject to be fine and watching TV.
