While good nutrition is something needed by everyone, people need different kinds of nutrition.

Nutrition can differ from person to person, and there are different ways to get past that. One main group that nutritionists want to make sure are eating healthy, is children. Guthrie County Hospital Clinical and Outpatient Dietitian Carol Laughery Tells Raccoon Valley Radio a couple of questions she asks to see if children are getting the nutrition they need.

“When I talk to clients about their child’s nutrition, number one is, “What does your family mealtime look like? Are you sitting down? Are you shutting off the screen? Are you having those crucial conversations?” The second thing I would look at is, “What is your child drinking?” And really trying to eliminate all sugary beverages.”

Laughery adds that another issue she’s been seeing grow recently is the number of school age children drinking energy drinks. She warns that there have been studies linking the amount of caffeine in energy drinks to tachycardia arrhythmias.
