Friday, January 27th

2:00am: Michael Eastman reported the Theft of a jump pack and $20.00 worth of fuel from 201 East Perry Street.

6:44am: Dispatch received multiple 911 Hang Up Calls from a cell number. The officer contacted the phone owner and learned a child had been playing with the phone.

9:19am: Craig Berry reported finding a bag with some items inside at the Methodist Church. The owner could not locate the bag. The officer took possession of the bag and items.

10:44am: An officer responded to a Smoke Alarm Activation at 1901 North Grimmell Road. All was fine in the school and it was deemed a False Alarm.

10:53am: An officer assisted with a Civil Property Exchange in the 700 Block of North Cedar Street.

11:44am: A caller advised of an Open Door at Harrison and Olive Streets. The officer spoke to a construction worker onsite, who advised they were letting the paint dry and clear the smell out of the property.

5:52pm: The Jefferson Post Office reported children playing on their snow pile at 106 West Harrison Street. They did not wish to be liable for injuries. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.

8:57pm: Jason Gehling requested a Welfare Check on his children, believed to be near the casino. The officer did not locate them there, but did speak to mother a short time later. She and the children were at a Carroll motel. The children were fine.

8:57pm: Jessica McKim reported unknown subjects had egged her residence at 500 South Wilson Ave. No lasting damage occurred. The officer is investigating.

10:35pm: A Traffic Stop at Wilson and Clark Streets resulted in Chance Packard of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended, and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability. The officer had the vehicle towed to Impound.

Saturday, January 28th

4:24am: An officer was advised of a car in the ditch near 220th and Oakland Ave. The driver advised there had been deer in the roadway and she ended up in the ditch, avoiding a collision. The vehicle suffered very minimal damage.

9:31am: A caller advised of a Suspended Driver in the 800 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

12:09pm: Ann Wenthold reported receiving Unwanted Harassing Text Messages from a Boone subject. The officer is investigating with charges pending at this time.

1:40pm: Mia Christy reported Harassing Text Messages from a known subject. The officer spoke to both parties and advised both to end the contact with the other.

8:46pm: An officer investigated an accident at the intersection of North Chestnut and East Reed Street. A 2011 Toyota Scion, owned and operated by Yaira Shines Ortiz Ramos of Jefferson, was westbound on East Reed Street. A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, owned and operated by Polly Kinsey of Jefferson, was northbound on North Chestnut Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The Ortiz Ramos vehicle suffered a reported $5000.00 in damages, while the Kinsey vehicle had a reported $300.00 in damages. Kinsey was cited for, “Fail to Yield to the Right.”

Sunday, January 29th

5:39am: A caller requested an officer at 1001 West Washington Street, for an unknown issue. The officer met with the subject, who was confused. The officer and staff members assisted the subject back into their apartment.

6:03pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 600 Block of West

Washington. During the assist, officers and paramedics could smell the pungent odor of marijuana inside the residence. The officer was given consent to search the residence. Several items of potential narcotics and paraphernalia were seized and taken into custody. Charges are pending lab results.

6:04pm: Shannon Otterson reported Phone Harassment from a Mason City subject. Both sides of the issue were advised not to contact the other.

6:51pm: An officer assisted a motorist who was stuck in the snow at Daubendiek Park.

7:03pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 800 Block of West Madison Street.

******* Officers issued (10) Citations for, “Parking- Snow Ordinance” for the reporting period.
