A few weekends ago Iowa Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair held a few public forums.

On January 21st, she and Iowa House District 23 Representative Ray Sorensen held some public forums where their districts shared territory. Sinclair tells Raccoon Valley Radio where they had the public forums, and what they talked about.

“The public forums that I had on (that) Saturday were great. We had some great dialogue. I had a public forum in Greenfield, we talked about, of course, the education bill, but we also talked about rural broadband, and we talked about nursing shortages and how we address those, and we talked about rural recreation and getting people into Iowa. We had some great conversation there in Greenfield. And then we had one in Winterset, and oddly enough, just an entirely different set of interests there. We talked about ESG investing, and we talked about the CO2 pipeline, that there are three that are going through there, and we had some conversation about that. Just really had some fun conversations at both of them, in addition to the conversation about the education scholarships, we really hit on some issues that were important in rural Iowa. I love getting out and chatting with people and seeing how things that are happening here match up with the things that people care about.”

Sinclair mentions that she and Sorensen don’t have any other joint public forums set up at the moment, but are working on setting up more during the legislative session.
