There was a residential fire that ended in a total loss in Perry Tuesday afternoon

According to the Perry Fire Chief Grason Hill, they responded to a structure fire at 1717 7th Street, owned by Beverly Devilbliss, at 3:49pm. Hill says that the fire was started from a space heater that malfunctioned and was left alone which engulfed the homeowners living room. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio the household was considered to be a total loss with no injuries but two cats died inside the residence and one dog survived. 

 The Perry Fire and Police Departments, along with the Perry First Responders, and Dallas County EMS responded to the scene.
