The Perry boys basketball team struggled on the offensive end Friday and Saturday night. The Bluejays fell to PCM Friday 59-46 and Atlantic on Saturday, 78-45.
Perry led 17-15 after the first quarter on Friday in Monroe only to see the Mustangs close the first half on a 14-3 run. Perry went six minutes without a field goal. PCM maintained the lead in the second half in avenging an earlier season loss to Perry. Zander Mahler led Perry with 13 points.
It was a similar outcome Saturday, with Perry jumping out to another strong first quarter , only to see the Trojans pull away in the 2nd quarter in opening a 32-18 halftime lead. The Trojans pushed the lead past thirty late in the 3rd quarter to finish the game with a continuous clock. Mahler led Perry once again with 10 points while Drake Levan and Geren Kenney added 9.
Perry now sits 4-13 and have dropped 8 of their last 9 games. The Bluejays host Greene County Tuesday.
