Dallas Center-Grimes basketball teams collect lopsided victories on Friday night.

It started with the girls playing both sides of the basketball well against the Oskaloosa Indians. On defense they only gave up only two points at the end of the first quarter, four points in the second quarter and 16 points for the rest of the game. The Mustangs caused roughly 20 turnovers and held the top scorer in the Little Hawkeye Conference Presley Blommers to only six points. The final score was DCG 52 and Oskaloosa 22. Mustangs stay undefeated in conference play (10-0) and (14-3) overall record. Finley Fitzgerald led all scorers with 13 points and 3 three pointers and Emma Minor added 12 points. A ceremony was also held to celebrate Minor’s achievement of scoring 1,000 career points against Newton.

After the Mustangs boys team would tip off with Oskaloosa they would lead the game start to finish. They would hold Oskaloosa scoreless for the first five minutes of the while the Mustangs got on a 14 to zero run. The momentum would carry into intermission with a DCG 42 to 15 lead and the running clock would start in the second half. The Indians had no answer to the defense and outside shooting from Dallas Center-Grimes. Tate Perrin had his best game of the season scoring 17 points and Calix Cahill would 13 points in the paint. The final score was 76 to 35. Mustangs improve to (9-6) and (4-4) in the conference.
