Weather officials are telling people to enjoy today’s temperatures because it could be a while before above freezing daytime highs come back into the forecast.
Weatherology Meteorologist Jennifer Wojcicki tells Raccoon Valley Radio after today’s daytime high of above 32 degrees, temperature drastically changes over the weekend as Sunday brings a daytime high of eight degrees and an overnight low of two degrees below zero.
“Right now we’ve kind of got that stationary front, which is why we’ve seen these kind of normal temperatures (and) not really moving too much for the past few days. Once that finally pushes through and that cold front comes in, high pressure system is off to the West Coast. Ad that’s going to come to our neck of the woods, and it’s just going to sit there. We’re not going to expect to see any moisture from it, but with it, it’s just going to keep those cold temperatures just lingering around because of that high pressure system.”
Wojciciki points out these bitterly cold temperatures could last until the end of next week.
