The Stuart Police Department recently announced that they would be once again working with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.
The department will be working with the Iowa ABD with a program called I-Pledge. Iowa ABD says the overall goal of I-Pledge is to increase the amount of retailers and law enforcement understanding and working with the state’s tobacco, alternative nicotine and vapor product laws, and prevent illegal sales of those products by providing education and increasing awareness of changes in the laws.
The Iowa ABD mentions that content of I-Pledge focuses on key identifiers on the latest format of Iowa driver’s licenses and includes the previous version of licenses and identification, so retailers can learn how to better spot fake or altered IDs. This program also looks to prevent underage sales, and teach when not to make a sale.
