The Perry City Council at their recent meeting approved amending the city’s code of ordinances.

City Administrator Sven Peterson says that the Council approved to amend their zoning regulations and site plan requirements along with amending their subdivisions and platting regulations. Peterson explains that these changes to the ordinances are supposed to make platting, subdividing and site plans easier to follow.

“Because before we really had one size fits all. So no matter if you were developing one acre or 100 acres, you really had the same process. So what we were able to do is kind of break that into different classifications of site plans so that a smaller project didn’t have to do quite as much as a large project.”

Peterson hopes these changes will reduce the burden on the smaller projects while also getting what they need from those site plans. The Council waived all three readings for the ordinances.
