United States Senator Joni Ernst is excited to be the ranking member of the United States Senate Small Business Committee.
As the Senator with the most seniority on the committee, Ernst has been able to do a few special things. This Includes giving out the first Senate Small Business of the Week Award last week, while she was visiting Guthrie County. She presented the award to Guthrie County Quality Meats Owner Grant Sheeder. Ernst tells Raccoon Valley Radio why the committee decided to give this award to Sheeder.
“They saw a need in the community for fresh meat that could be delivered to homes, and they have filled that gap by starting this business. It’s really great that we have people that see a need in their home community in those rural areas that are willing to step up, do something a little bit different, and provide service to their neighbors.”
Ernst presented the award to Sheeder after she had a public forum with local businesses that are members of the Guthrie Center and Panora Chambers of Commerce.
