Many Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Perry High School students performed and excelled at the District Large Group Speech competitions this past weekend.

ADM High School had 74 students that made up 13 groups at the district competition in Creston on Saturday. There were nine groups that received a division one rating in the following categories: Varsity Choral Reading, Varsity Reader’s Theatre, three in Varsity Improv, two in Varsity TV News, Varsity Radio News and Freshman Radio News. 

Perry High School sent 12 students in nine groups to Johnston on Saturday. There were five groups in the following categories that received a division one rating that include two Short Film groups, improve, Readers Theater and Radio Broadcasting. 

The events that scored at a Division I-rating and will be moving onto the State Large Group Speech competition which will take place at Waukee High School on February 4th.
