Competitions in the first three weeks of the year have been fast and furious for the basketball and wrestling teams at Greene County High School. The schedules ease up this week with just one night of basketball and nothing until the end of the week for the wrestling team.
The Rams have the first four days on the hardcourt off from competition. Greene County basketball will host West Marshall (State Center) in the high school gym in Jefferson on Friday, Jan. 27. It’s a girl/boy Heart of Iowa Activities Conference doubleheader with coverage on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com beginning at 5:45 p.m. The girls play at 6 o’clock with the boys to follow.
Greene County doesn’t have wrestling scheduled until Saturday, Jan. 28 in Guthrie Center at the ACGC Charger Invitational. The Rams will likely use the time to allow several key lineup members to improve the injury situation after an extremely busy schedule to this point.
