Greene County and Paton-Churdan earned several Division I-ratings at this past Saturday’s Iowa High School Speech Association District Large Group Contest.

Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray tells Raccoon Valley Radio five events scored a Division I-rating and will be moving onto the state contest next month. Those events include Readers Theater, Choral Reading, Short Film, Ensemble Acting, and Radio Broadcasting. Three students will also compete in two events at state, and those include Allee Hinote, Maggie Mikkelsen, and Brayden Roberts.

Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Lauren Boysen says their lone event of Readers Theater also earned a Division I-rating and will be advancing to state. 

Greene County and Paton-Churdan will head to Waukee High School on February 4th for the Iowa High School Speech Association State Large Group Contest.
