Thursday, January 19th
1:37am: An officer checked on an Abandoned Vehicle, stuck in the snow, near Olive and Park Streets. No one was with the vehicle.
6:42am: An officer towed a vehicle in the city parking lot behind City Hall. The vehicle had not moved in weeks and crews could not clear snow around it.
8:53am: Mary Ganoe-Danielson reported her friend’s vehicle was in the ditch near American Ave. and Doreen Wilbur Drive. She advised the vehicle would be removed shortly.
9:43am: The Gardens reported (2) missing prescription medication tablets. The officer is investigating.
9:49am: Kenneth Arbuckle reported two stray Dogs in the 700 Block of West Harrison Street. The officer could not immediately respond. The officer later patrolled the area and did not locate the reported animals.
10:17am: Officers assisted the Jefferson Fire Department at 405 East State Street. An electrical fire occurred in the basement. The house suffered heavy damage.
10:28am: An officer investigated an accident in the 100 Block of East Washington Street. While responding to the fire, a firefighter was driving his own personal vehicle and could not get stopped and struck the rear of another personal vehicle of a firefighter. Larry Rogers of Jefferson was cited for, “Failure to Maintain Control.”
10:50am: City water workers requested a Welfare Check on a resident in the 400 Block of Sundown Court. Officers made contact with the subject in the residence and she was not in need of assistance.
2:36pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of Wild Rose Lane.
3:27pm: Molly Ritter caught a Stray Dog near Grimmell and Lincoln Way Streets, and requested to meet an officer at the Animal Holding Facility. The officer knew the owner had been out looking for the animal and returned it to the owner.
3:40pm: A caller requested an officer to speak with a neighbor, who pushes their snow onto the subjects property. The officer spoke to the neighbor about the issue.
3:42pm: Angela Milakovich reported catching a Stray Dog in the 400 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.
5:21pm: An officer spoke to a driver in the 300 Block of East Lincoln Way Street, who was having mechanical issues. The vehicle was removed from the roadway.
5:52pm: Mike Tolsdorf reported a neighbor had pushed their snow onto his yard. The officer believed the snow actually came from city plows clearing the roadway.
8:04pm: Brooke Harrison requested a Welfare Check on a possible Suicidal Subject in Jefferson. The officer coaxed the subject to ER to be evaluated by a medical doctor.
