A Lake City man was arrested for an alleged drunk driving incident that happened earlier this month in Greene County.

According to court documents, a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the incident after dispatch was notified of a single vehicle crash from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at 11pm on January 14th on A Avenue, north of 190th Street on the county line. The driver, 24-year-old Dillon Davis, told the deputy that he was heading south on A Avenue in a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado truck, when he turned onto what he thought was a road but ended up being a farm field drive into a farm field.

Davis said he continued to drive on the field and turned onto another field drive that ended up being a ditch. The deputy noticed the smell of alcohol coming from Davis as he was talking and also saw open alcoholic containers inside the truck. During the investigation, Davis refused to submit to a standard field sobriety test and a preliminary breath test. Court documents show Davis had to be assisted several times from falling over, which the deputy believed Davis was under the influence of alcohol.

Davis was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for an OWI, along with citations for failure to maintain control and open container. He was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
