Carter Morton from Jefferson, a third year multi-event track & field athlete at the University of Northern Iowa, has the 2023 portion of the indoor season off to a good start. Competing at the U. of Iowa’s Hawkeye Invite on Jan., Morton was second in the pole vault at 15′ 1″ and he set a personal best in the event. He was fourth in the triple jump at 14.57 meters in his first career meet in that event, and he finished 12th in the 60 meter high hurdles in 8.31 seconds.
Morton will be busy this weekend with the Panthers hosting the Jack Jennett Invitational inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on Friday, then traveling to Iowa City for Saturday’s Larry Wieszorak Invite.
