Greene County hosted West Marshall (State Center) and Roland-Story (Story City) in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference wrestling dual meets in Jefferson last night. The Rams went 1-1 on the night with a 48-31 loss to WM and a 54-27 win over R-S. Coach Zach Beekman’s team is 11-9 in dual meets overall and they finished 5-2 in the conference.

Senior McKinley Robbins went 2-0 on the night and now has 151 career victories, the most in the history of the Jefferson-based program. He also is the career falls leader with 87, and his victories on Tuesday were by fall and forfeit.

Senior Kale Petersen collected career wins numbers 100 and 101, and he also was 2-0 with a fall and forfeit.

Other Rams at 2-0 on Tuesday were Gavyn Winters with a 10-4 decision and a win by fall. Jacob Harmeyer had a 13-5 major decision and by fall, with Brent Dennhardt winning twice by fall, one taking just five seconds. Jackson Turner won by fall and by forfeit. Gavin Scheuermann and Braeden Turner each collect one forfeit, and Crew Conner lost by fall and won by forfeit. Bork Ersness and Marcus Ball each lost twice.

The Rams go to Perry Friday for the HOIAC tournament starting at 5 p.m., then head to Urbandale Saturday morning for the Ed Winger Invitational starting at 9 a.m.
