The Guthrie Center School Board met in regular session Monday.
The Board heard reports from both the elementary and secondary principles, and Superintendent Josh Rasmussen. Rasmussen let the Board know that the IHSAA Membership Classification Agreement had passed last week, and told them about how it may affect Adair-Casey / Guthrie Center football starting next year.
A contract was issued for Lindsay Fluharty, who will be brought on as the school district’s nurse, and recommendations for summer and fall coaches were approved. The Board approved the amended service agreement with Des Moines Area Community College for Career Academy, concurrent enrollment, online and on campus courses for a four year period, with the only change to the previous agreement was that DMACC would be increasing prices for the services provided.
The Board also reviewed and approved two applications for early retirement. Rasmussen acknowledged and thanked the two long time employees, high school art teacher Kelly Nielsen and Board Secretary Joni Rees, for their dedication to the district.
