Calling all chili makers, there is a contest happening this weekend in one Greene County town.

The Rippey Public Library is hosting a Chili Cook Off this Saturday in the Rippey Community Room from 11am-1pm. Anyone can enter their chili and all participants should be at the Community Room with their chili ready to go by 10:30am. Chili, along with cinnamon rolls, coffee and cold beverages will be available until it is gone. Prizes will be awarded according to popular vote, which will be done by “Kasting Your Kernel.”

Free-will donations will be accepted with all proceeds going toward the Rippey Library Summer Reading Program. Contact the library at 515-436-7714 to enter the contest.
